September 2003: Vor etwa fünfzehn Jahren habe ich in einem kleinen Club in NYC eine Band, bestehend aus vier schwarzen Musikern, gesehen und gehört, die eine erstaunliche Mixtur aus Funk und Heavy Rock(!!!) zum Besten gab. Die erste CD 'Vivid' war natürlich ein absoluter Knaller. Vernon Reid spielte seine knallbunte ESP noch wesentlich zurückhaltender (zumindest im Studio), und der Sound hat mir wesentlich besser gefallen als auf der experimentelleren CD ...
